Free resources to help improve seat belt safety

The Driving for Better Business (DfBB) initiative has produced a range of free-to-download resources to help businesses ensure their drivers are wearing seat when required.

These materials include a longform article for publishing, short messages for sending to drivers’ devices, and a poster for staff noticeboards and can all be downloaded here.

Call to action

The DfBB initiative, of which BALI is a proud strategic partner, has also set out three ‘calls to action’ for businesses:

• Make sure you’ve got the policies you need in place to ensure your drivers know that they must always be wearing a seat belt.
• Make sure everyone involved is aware of their responsibilities – including managers & supervisors.
• Don’t be afraid to challenge drivers about wearing their seat belts.

Landscaping

Seat belt safety is highly relevant to landscape industries, with government studies suggesting over 6% of van and truck drivers do not wear their seat belt.

Moreover, the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety has found vans and light goods vehicles are involved in 10 times more collisions than cars or pedestrians.
